TOUHEY, John

John TouheyJohn Touhey is a writer/director working in film and television.  His narrative feature September 12th, produced through his production company Magicfying Films, received the Audience and Jury Awards for Best Film at the Long Island Film Festival.  It was also honored with the Best Film award at the Longbaugh Film Festival in Portland, Oregon and was screened as part of the New Filmmakers series at Anthology Film Archives in New York City.

Along with his partners at Magicfying, John is currently prepping his next film, the romantic comedy Lancelot, set to star Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Madeline Zima (Californication), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), and Thora Birch (American Beauty). 

John co-adapted the animated hit Pokemon: The First Movie, a Warner Bros. release that grossed $85 million at the box office.  A half-hour documentary, The God Question, appeared in 2010.  His short film Ichabod’s Christmas is currently screening in festivals.  Among his many TV credits, John was the head writer and story editor of Chaotic, a popular animated series that appeared for three seasons on The CW Television Network and on Cartoon Network.

During the 90s, John Touhey served as a Vice President at New Line Cinema, one of the most successful independent film companies in the world.  He resides in New Jersey with his wife and three sons.
