MCCARTHY, John C.

John C. McCarthyJohn C. McCarthy earned his B.A. in philosophy from St. Michael’s College, the University of Toronto.  His M.A. and his Ph.D. are from The Catholic University of America.  He is currently associate professor in its School of Philosophy, and, since November 2011, the School’s dean. He teaches a variety of courses at the undergraduate level; at the graduate level, the focus of his course offerings is on the philosophers of the early modern period. His publications include essays on reductionism in modern natural science, the relation between human reason and Christian faith, and the origins of early modern philosophy.  He is the happily married father of three children.
